This year the has an exciting new off-island opportunity for your student. We will be taking a group of 12-15 students to the beautiful island of Kaua’i for 10 days of outdoor leadership experiences and unforgettable adventures.
This trip is primarily a backpacking trip, including four nights exploring the world renowned Kalalau Trail on the beautiful Na Pali coastline and two nights in Waimea Canyon, referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Hawaiʻi.” Between the backpacking journeys, students will snorkel, surf, and kayak in pristine locations around Kaua’i. This amazing trip will provide lifelong memories for our group participants to cherish.
The Kaua’i Wilderness Adventure will focus on teaching students skills for ethical, safe, and fun outdoor activities. Our purpose is to guide students to develop the independence, confidence, and responsibility to create future outdoor adventures for themselves. Students will learn effective backcountry cooking skills, safe water purification techniques, and wise camp preparation and tear down, while practicing the seven principles of "Leave No Trace." The Summer Outdoor Program inspires students with the values of place-based education, personal environmental stewardship, and the confidence gained from individual achievement as we work together to successfully surmount numerous mental and physical challenges throughout our adventure.
