Lindsay Barnes Jr. , Headmaster
Mr. Barnes was appointed in July 2008.   He earned his Juris Doctor from The University of Virginia School of Law and holds a master’s degree in journalism from The University of Georgia.  As Head of School, Mr. Barnes directs all facets of school life.

Shirley Ann Fukumoto , Assistant Headmaster and Summer Session Principal
Mrs. Fukumoto is responsible for the school in the Headmaster's absence. She oversees all academic affairs, K-12. As Director of Auxiliary Programs and Service Learning Coordinator, Mrs. Fukumoto oversees the use of campus facilities by outside groups and the service learning program. She also coordinates the teacher mentor program and acts as the summer school principal. She earned both her B.S. and M. Ed. from the University of Hawai'i, Manoa.

Gary Campbell, CPA, Business Manager
Gary Campbell administers all business activities of the school, including accounting, bookstore, housekeeping, maintenance, food service, and security. Mr. Campbell earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.

Joshua Clark, Director of Admission
Mr. Clark is responsible for all aspects of the admission process, including marketing, recruitment and enrollment, and the administration of the financial aid program. He earned his bachelor's degree from Purdue University. He was appointed in July 2006.

Phyllis Kanekuni, APR , Director of Public Relations
Ms. Kanekuni is responsible for marketing communications, including media relations, advertising, and collateral materials. She also is the editor of Ma Ke Kula, the school magazine. She earned her B.A. in journalism and telecommunications from the University of Oregon.

Keawe Liu ‘89, CFRE, Director of Advancement
Mr. Liu graduated from HPA in 1989 and also taught and coached here from 1996 to 2002. He is responsible for developing and implementing an on-going fundraising plan that addresses the school's annual, capital, and endowment needs. Mr. Liu earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and received his master's in educational leadership from the University of Hawai'i, Manoa.

Bernard Noguès , Director of the Isaacs Center and Scholarship Auction
Mr. Noguès is responsible for developing the school's arts acquisition program, and for planning and coordinating the school's biennial auction, which raises funds to provide financial aid for students. Mr. Noguès earned his Baccalaureate from the University of Paris. He has served the school since 1966.

Fred Wawner, Dean of Student Life
Mr. Wawner oversees the school's residential life program and all aspects of student life focusing on the Upper School conduct program.  Mr. Wawner earned his master's degree in education from Old Dominion University.
