Standardized Testing
Standardized test results are required to complete the application for applicants to grades 6-12. Applicants can provide a PSAT, SAT, or ACT score in lieu of the SSAT. Students who are unable to take the SSAT due to distance to a test site, conflicts with test dates, or for other reasons can contact the HPA Admission Office to request a waiver from the SSAT requirement. The Admission Office will discuss an alternative test or other information that may be used for the application.

Test results from the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) are required to complete the application to HPA for grades 6-12. You may register for the test online at www.ssat.org. The HPA test site number is 3766.

Test Day Checklist
Don't forget:
- Your SSAT Admission Ticket
- Sharpened #2 pencils
- A good eraser
Listen carefully to the instructions read by the test supervisor and follow directions in the test book.
Remember to mark your current grade level, not the grade you will enter next year, on your answer sheet.
No books, papers, calculators, beepers, phones, or alarm watches are permitted in the test room. No visitors are allowed in the test room.
All test materials will be collected at the end of the test and may not be taken from the room. The SSAT is not a disclosed test.
Test Time
Testing normally begins at 9:00 a.m.
Check your admission ticket for exact time.
Plan to arrive at the test by 8:15 to ensure proper check-in, especially if you are a standby tester.
Test dismissal is normally between 12 noon and 12:30 pm.
Be sure someone can meet you at that time, as test supervisors are not responsible for remaining at the center after the test ends. At large centers, testing may start later than 9 a.m. and dismissal may be delayed.
Test Location
HPA is a test center for the SSAT. Please contact the HPA Admission Office at 808-881-4321 for the specific location on the HPA campus and directions to get there. If you need assistance on the actual test day, please call HPA Security at 808-881-4006.
HPA also is a flex test site. If you are unable to make one of the international test dates listed above, you may register for a flex test at www.ssat.org/flex and take the test at a more convenient time. Please contact the HPA Admission Office to schedule the SSAT Flex Test date.
