Financing for the 2008-2009 Academic Year

Hawai'i Preparatory Academy is committed to helping as many families as possible find the financial resources to afford an HPA education. The information below will provide you with all of the necessary information to seek financial solutions for your child's education at HPA. Please be sure to review the Financial Aid Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for important information.

A complete Financial Aid Application for the 2008-2009 academic year includes:

• Parent Financial Statement (PFS)

Hawai'i Preparatory Academy uses the School and Student Service (SSS) for Financial Aid to process the completed financial aid forms. Parents may contact HPA to receive a hard copy of the PFS, which we will mail to you.

• Business/Farm Statement

For parents who own their own business or farm, please complete this form in addition to the PFS. Send this form directly to HPA.

• Completed 2006 IRS 1040 tax returns & all tax schedules *

The tax returns should be a photocopy of the actual returns you sent to the IRS. A photocopy of any form, schedule, or documentation that has been used to complete your tax return for the IRS also should be sent to HPA.

• 2007 IRS Wage and Tax Statements (such as the W-2, 1099, or K-1) *

Parents should receive their current W-2s and other tax schedules by the end of January or early February. If there are any problems or delays with providing all 2007 schedules, please contact the Director of Financial Aid as soon as possible. Please photocopy all statements and send them directly to HPA.

* To expedite the application process, families who have completed their 2007 tax returns can submit them in lieu of the 2006 returns and 2007 W-2s.
