Blue Zones Project

The Blue Zones Project is a systems approach in which citizens, schools, employers, restaurants, grocery stores and community leaders collaborate on policies and programs that move the community towards better health and well-being. North Hawai'i is one of three communities in the state of Hawai'i to be selected to participate in this wellness movement.

“The Blue Zones Project is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to consciously focus on choices to improve quality of life. At HPA, educating ourselves for a healthy lifestyle is as essential as achieving academic success.” — Robert McKendry, Head of School

"Hawai'i Preparatory Academy has always had a commitment to providing a holistic approach to learning. The Blue Zones Project has provided us a framework for evaluating and monitoring our activities to ensure we are promoting healthy lives and a healthy environment to enhance learning." —Cathy Grant, Lower School Principal and Patty Walker, Middle School Interim Principal
