Thirty-Second Annual Horse Trials Results Announced

WAIMEA, Island of Hawaii—Hawaii Preparatory Academy hosted its Thirty-Second Annual Horse Trials on March 2 at the school's Upper Campus. Nancy Steinecke of Kohala, Hawaii, judged the show.

The competition consisted of three phases, Dressage, Cross-Country Jumping, and Stadium Jumping, with the lowest penalty points being the winner. Results of this competition, open to riders throughout the state, are as follows:

DIVISION A: Competed with a Walk/Trot dressage test and 6-8 jumps up to a height of 2’4”.

  2. Miss Mouse/Alexa Nakamura 58.1
  3. Art Sweet Conclusion/Teralyn Arthur 59.4


DIVISION B:
Rode the Beginner Novice Eventing test for dressage and went on to jump up to 12 jumping efforts up to a height of 2’7”.

  2. Sugar ‘n Spice/Hannah Donkersloot 41.6
  3. Geronimo/Rose Marie Chute 52.9
  4. Pandora/Sarah Blanchard 90.6


DIVISION C: Rode the Novice Eventing test with up to 20 jumping efforts going as high as 2’9”. Only one competitor completed all three sections.

DIVISION D: Rode a Novice Eventing test with up to 20 jumping efforts up to 2’9”.

  1. Randolph/Joan Maute 40.5

  4. Kala’e/Emma Humphries 81.5
  5. Otis Sparkmeister/Monique Walls 89.6

DIVISION E: Rode a Training Eventing test. Their 20 jumping efforts ranged up to 3’3” in height.

  1. Pride/Teralyn Arthur 74.9
  2. Ho’aka/Emma Ahlo 84.2
  3. Geronimo/Sydney Budde 88.8


Best Score Ribbons, awarded to the lowest score in Divisions B-E, went to Leo Bar Nani, ridden by Lisa Johnston, 34.6.

Best Score and Reserve went to Randolph, ridden by Joan Maute, with a score of 40.5.
