THE PROGRAMSummer at HPA will run from June 25 to July 21, 2012 Summer at HPA offers students entering grades 6-12 a unique four-week boarding experience structured for academic enrichment and designed to make the most of summer and take advantage of our wondrous island-home to 80 percent of the world’s ecosystems. Summer Session offers new and prospective HPA students an excellent introduction to the school’s program and instructors. Many students return every summer to take advantage of the outstanding program and staff and to meet students from around the world. COURSE OFFERINGSDriver Education class: $450 (Includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours behind-the-wheel practice driving sessions time with certified instructor.) ...and more! (A full list of 2012 courses will be available soon.) This summer, we are excited to introduce Hoku a ‘Aina, a summer program for students in grades 6-8. This sustainability program offers a morning interdisciplinary seminar that integrates core skills—writing, math, science, and the arts—through ecoliteracy. From 8 a.m. to noon, Middle School students will focus on sustainability topics and select an elective class for the afternoon block. These are non-credit enrichment courses.
