Lynn Taylor Library

Taylor Library serves grades K-8 on the Village campus of Hawaii Preparatory Academy. It is located at the Village Campus and fronts Kawaihae Road. The goal of our K-8 library is to provide access to information and to encourage and develop a love for all literature, as well introduce students to age appropriate library skills, to support classroom teaching and teachers, and to help the students succeed in their academic experience. The librarians subscribe to and operate according to the Information Access and Delivery Principles of School Library Media Programs approved by the American Association of School Librarians as the cardinal premises on which learning and teaching within the effective school library media program is based.

Resources:
We like to call ourselves a library media center. We not only have books, but magazines, audio visual materials, computers, a computerized card catalog which allows access for the cards of both Taylor and Dyer Libraries, CD-ROM databases, and a web hook up with EBSCO Research Resource through our membership in the Hawai`i Library Consortium. YOUR LIBRARY SERVES BOTH LOWER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS.

Newspapers:
Newspapers are posted each day and kept for approximately two weeks. We have: West Hawaii Today and the Honolulu Advertiser.
