The People and Projects
The Energy Lab hosts a growing body of students engaged in independent research projects. With assistance from a faculty mentor, students dive deep into an area of interest, exploring topics outside the scope of the standard curriculum. The Lab provides ample workspace and a multitude of tools to enable projects in any discipline.

These endeavors are self-directed and self-motivated: students are responsible not only for making progress on their project, but for documenting that progress in daily blog entries. By pushing students to engage directly in their passions, these experiences teach valuable skills such as ownership, time-management and public speaking. Honing these skills prepares students for college and future careers, where independent problem-solving will be key to their success.
