Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy benefits from the generosity of its alumni, parents, and friends, who provide support for a broad range of opportunities that make the HPA Experience unique. There are a number of ways parents, alumni, past parents, friends, board members, employees, and corporations can provide tax-deductible support to HPA.
The HPA Fund forms the basis of all giving to HPA. Unrestricted gifts at every level to the HPA Fund provide the broadest support to HPA enabling the immediate funding of programs for faculty development, the expansion of cultural programs, extracurricular activities, and other pressing needs. Each year, all members of the HPA ‘ohana are asked to support the school with a gift to the HPA Fund. The annual giving campaign coincides with the academic calendar, kicking off in June and running through the end of May.
Additionally, individuals and organizations also are invited to support HPA with gifts in support of a broad range of current use and endowed restricted opportunities, ranging from facilities renovation to faculty professional development and from program enhancements to scholarships. Restricted current use funds are directed toward a purpose designated by the donor, such as the rebuilding of HPA's magnificent campus or the creation of term financial aid funds. The principal of a current use gift is depleted over a specified term.
Planned gifts--gifts made through one's estate--provide donors a variety of options to meet a particular motivation or need, including retirement planning and the transfer of assets during their lifetimes while leaving a residual benefit once they have passed.

The HPA Fund
HPA offers students the opportunities to strive for excellence, in a unique and beautiful setting, while working alongside a diverse group of peers and mentors. An HPA education produces global citizens who care for their communities and environment, and seek new and innovative challenges to grow and improve. The HPA Fund is needed to extend these opportunities to more and more children and to assist with the advancement of our school. Please consider making a gift to the HPA Fund and enabling us to offer this distinct and exceptional experience to future generations.
Donors who choose to make capital gifts can direct their support toward a specific purpose that matches their personal interests with the needs and priorities of the school. Such purposes include facilities, scholarships, and teaching. Capital gifts may also lead to recognition opportunities, which honor or memorialize a person of the donor's choosing.
Gifts toward endowment are invested by the school, and the income is directed toward a purpose selected by the donor, in accordance with HPA’s spending rule. The gift continues in perpetuity, helping to safeguard the school’s tradition of excellence against changing economic climates. Endowment opportunities include scholarships, facilities, and funds to support teaching.
