HPA alum Gabbie Ewing '15 has signed a deal to play professional soccer for Skövde KIK, a Division 1 team in Sweden’s Norra Götaland league. A signing ceremony was held at Concordia University last week, where Gabbie has spent the last four years furthering her education and developing her skills on the soccer field.
While at HPA, Gabbie was a starter on the girl’s soccer team all four seasons and was selected BIFF Division II Player of the Year in her senior year. During her tenure, the Ka Makani won four league titles and two state championships.
Stephen Perry, HPA’s Director of Athletics, noted that Gabbie’s success in athletics was not limited to soccer alone. "Gabbie made an impact with HPA athletics from day one of her freshman year. From soccer, volleyball, track, and softball, she was always prepared and determined to get better each day. On the soccer pitch, Gabbie was in the midfield for all four years, where her presence and competitive fire helped HPA be a consistent force in the BIIF and HHSAA. A true leader and role model for all student-athletes", said Perry.
Congratulations to Gabbie Ewing on this exciting and well-deserved opportunity. We wish you every success along this journey, and we will be following your career with great pride!
