About 90 Hawaii Preparatory Academy Lower School students took part in a day of swimming, biking, and running as part of the school's annual Keiki Triathlon, held Sunday, Sept. 30 at the HPA Upper School.
After School Sports
Summer at HPA, June 25 - July 20, 2018
Sports are central to Summer at HPA. All boarding students participate in an after-school sport (3:30 - 5 p.m.) and take part in the Summer Olympics during the last week of the Summer Session.

The intramural sports program promotes healthy competition, physical fitness, sportsmanship, and fun. The program consists of a rotating schedule that might include softball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, or a number of other field activities and sports.
NOTE: In lieu of Intramurals, boarding students may enroll in one of the following:

Students will learn proper grooming and tacking procedures and will gain a working knowledge of aides and mechanics involved when riding English. Instruction in equitation, trail riding, horse care, and maintenance is stressed.
- Cost: $450
Beginning Objective: Beginning instruction teaches the basics and expands on the strokes - forehands, backhands, serves, and volleys. Students are introduced to rallying and hitting from the baseline, and to basic singles and doubles. Most importantly, the emphasis is on FUN!
Intermediate Objective: Intermediate instruction is designed for student tennis players wanting to shapren their skills. Players generally have good stroke production, but still need work on basic match strategies. Games are a big part of the learning process.
