Kumu Ka‘ai Spencer addressed the class of 2019 at graduation on May 24 and drew advice from Hole Waimea: “As a representative of ka ihe o ka makani (or ‘spear of the wind’), you have to keep your spear sharp. You are the spear, and the spear is you. … Whatever it is you chose to do, do it well. Sharpen the spear.”
