Aloha Maui ʻohana,
As part of our commitment to opening doors and providing access to all students, HPA has launched Nā Kama a Maui (The Children of Maui), an enrollment initiative that makes immediate direct assistance available for children who were displaced by the August wildfires. Through this expansion of our Financial Aid program and the generosity of loyal donors, we are humbled to be able to sponsor Maui families by providing a safe space for your children to study, grow, and heal on Hawaiʻi Island.
We feel grateful to be positioned as a K-12 boarding and day school that can offer a nourishing living and learning environment for our Maui keiki during this challenging time. HPA is prepared to provide books, school supplies, laptops, meals, and social-emotional support, along with housing for residential students.
If you or someone you know want to learn more about Nā Kama a Maui and how to enroll in our safe, nurturing, and supportive program at HPA, please contact Tiare Judd Police ‘86, our Director of Admission, at tpolice@hpa.edu, (808) 987-8786 (mobile/text) or (808) 881-4023 (office).
From our HPA Upper Campus in Kohala, we can often see the beautiful silhouette of Haleakalā and the powerful channel of ʻAlenuihāhā that connects our two islands. For generations, the people of Kohala and Maui have shared a close bond — a tradition that we continue to honor today. We hope to help Maui students find a home away from home at HPA.
Gratefully,
Fred Wawner
