I saw and learned things I never would have learned otherwise—the Kaniakapūpū ruins for example. No one could find that unless they knew what they were looking for; you would never find it on a typical tourist itinerary.”

Each year, Theme Week takes us off campus and into amazing hands-on learning across Hawai‘i Island, and sometimes off-island. This long-standing tradition is a major highlight of the year for all Middle School students. Our teachers—with the assistance of volunteers—design four-day adventures focused on a special topic in their area of expertise. Each student selects one activity. Here are some of the offerings that have been available previously.
Batik and Silk Painting
Batik means painting with melted wax. Feel the freedom of your own art studio for a whole week!
