No matter where your interests lie, we are here to help you find a college, university, or program that fits your learning style and supports your dreams. That could mean a high-profile, urban institution; an engineering institute; a small, rural, liberal arts college; film, art, or design school; a culinary program; an international gap year adventure—the world is open to you.

University and college partnerships

HPA is fortunate to maintain strong and enduring relationships with the admissions offices at colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and overseas. Hawai‘i applicants are often desired for the geographic diversity and global perspective they bring to the college experience. Each year, representatives of top institutions, many of whom are deans or directors of admission, visit our campus to meet and work with our students. In fact, HPA is seen as one of the prime high schools in the state of Hawai’i from which to recruit students. To further nurture these relationships, our counselors travel extensively to university and college campuses and professional meetings throughout the year.

Recent results

HPA graduates are consistently admitted to highly-selective colleges and universities, as well as many other outstanding institutions that meet their goals. Virtually 100 percent of our graduates enroll at four-year institutions and report high satisfaction with their university choice.

In the past seven years, our graduates have enrolled at Harvard (2), Yale (2), Columbia, University of Chicago, Princeton, Brown, University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Cornell, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Duke, Johns Hopkins, MIT, Claremont McKenna, and Washington University in St. Louis. During this same time period, students were also admitted to many other well-known schools including Amherst, Boston College, Boston University, Bowdoin, Caltech, Emory, Michigan, Northeastern, NYU, Pomona, UVA, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Vanderbilt.
